Economic Research Unit

The Economic Research Unit prepares economic forecasts and analyses of various economic developments, advises state departments and local government agencies, and provides economic information to the general public.

Reports and Periodicals

  • California County Profiles
    A statistical "snapshot" of selected economic, social, and demographic data for California and its 58 counties.
  • California Economic Indicators
    A bimonthly summary of economic trends and data relating to the State of California.
  • California Statistical Abstract
    A compilation of data on social, economic, and physical aspects of the state. 
  • Economic Report of the Governor
    A historical overview and review of the State of California's economy, published in 2000.
  • Dynamic Revenue Analysis for California
     Details the California Dynamic Revenue Analysis Model (DRAM), used by Finance to perform dynamic revenue analysis for proposed legislation having a revenue impact of ten million dollars or more. 
    (The Department of Finance is no longer required to use the DRAM for bill analyses, thus, this model is no longer maintained. However, the California Air Resources Board is still a user of the model and can be reached at (916) 323-1182.)
