2009-10 Appropriation
Dear City or County Official:
The online application process is now open to request your city or county's share of the 2009-10 Appropriation of Proposition 1B funding for local road maintenance provided by Chapter 1, Statutes of 2009 (AB X4 1).
To receive funds, your city council or county board of supervisors must approve a plan for use of its share of the 2009-10 Appropriation as calculated by the SCO. The 2009 Budget Act appropriates a total of $700 million, including $258,205,000 for cities and $441,795,000 for counties, which represents the remaining balance of Proposition 1B Local Streets and Roads funding. Your plan must be completed and submitted online at the following website. To begin your plan, please click on the link below.

Available funding for each city and county is listed below. Please note that some cities have already received their full share of funding through the 2008-09 Appropriation and therefore the amount payable is shown as zero.
Cities and counties have three fiscal years from the date of allocation to expend the funds, so all funds must be spent by June 30, 2013. Further eligibility criteria for cities and counties are listed below.- Proposition 1B Online Application Instructions (.doc, <1 MB)

Note: While the 2009 Budget Act appropriated $700 million for cities and counties, funding is contingent on the state's ability to sell bonds. Please note that cash may not be immediately available to approve all allocation requests. Therefore, allocations will be made by the State Controller's Office in the order plans are received.
