Proposition 1B Disbursements — Local Streets and Roads
2008-09 Appropriation
Dear City or County Official:
We are pleased to announce the online application process for receiving
your city or county’s share of the 2008-09 Appropriation of Proposition 1B
funding for local road maintenance provided by Chapter 269, Statutes
of 2008 (AB 88).
To receive funds, your city council or county board of supervisors must approve
a plan for use of its share of the 2008-09 Appropriation as calculated by the
SCO. The 2008 Budget Act appropriates $63 million available to counties
in set allocations and $187 million to cities available on a first-come, first-served
basis. Further eligibility criteria for cities are listed below. Your plan
must be completed and submitted online at the following website. To begin your
plan, please click on the link below.
An instructional letter has been provided below explaining the new process. Instructions are also available on the website.
Finance will notify the State Controller's Office regarding which entities have submitted completed plans, and the State Controller's Office will distribute funds on a monthly basis.

Note: The 2008-09 Appropriation made $187 million available to cities on a first-come, first-served basis. We have reached the $187 million threshold so we will no longer be accepting plans from cities for the 2008-09 Appropriation. Those cities that had not yet requested funding through the 2008-09 Appropriation will have the opportunity to request the remaining balances through a future appropriation.
