Molly Arnold, Chief Counsel

Molly Arnold is the Chief Counsel of the California Department of Finance. Before joining the Department she was the Supervising Deputy Attorney General with responsibility for the team within the Attorney General’s Office that provides advice to the State’s constitutional officers and to State departments on debt issuance matters. She served in that capacity and as a member of that team for five years.
Prior to working for the Attorney General’s office, Ms. Arnold served as a Senior Staff Counsel with the Department of Housing and Community Development for ten years. She also practiced law for seven years at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, a national public finance law firm, representing local governments and State departments in public finance matters.
Ms. Arnold received her law degree at Santa Clara University College of Law.
