California County Profiles

The California County Profiles, updated by the California Department of Finance, is a compilation of selected economic, social, and demographic data for California and its 58 counties. This statistical "snapshot" includes information in the following areas:

• Population of the county and largest cities;
• Educational enrollment and spending;
• Labor force and employment by industry;
• Number of business establishments by industry and employment size;
• Income and sales;
• Imports and exports by customs districts;
• Housing stock, residential / nonresidential construction, home prices;
• Manufacturing industry / timber production;
• Agricultural data, such as number of farms, employment, and value of production;
• Vehicle registration and miles of streets, roads, and highways; and
• Local government tax collections and expenditures.
