Q: When I use the Safari browser and Adobe Reader 7.0, Safari unexpectedly quits while attempting to load a PDF document. How can I access the PDF documents?

A: Disable the Adobe Reader 7.0 browser plug-in and web check features. The following steps will guide you through the process.

  1. Quit the Safari application.
  2. Open the Adobe Reader 7.0 application.
  3. Select Preferences from the Application menu.
  4. Select the Internet category on the left-hand navigation bar
  5. On the Web Browser Options screen, deselect the "Display PDF in browser using:" and the "Check browser settings when starting Reader" check boxes.
  6. Exit from Adobe Reader 7.0 and re-launch Safari.

After making these changes PDF files from the Governor's Budget site will open in the default PDF viewer.

Q: I am using Internet Explorer and am unable to open PDF documents. How can I access the PDF documents?

A: Your internet option settings may not be set to allow access to our server. The following steps will guide you through the process of correcting this:

  1. Within Internet Explorer, select Tools from the top menu.
  2. Select Internet Options and then go to the Advanced tab.
  3. Go to the Browsing options.
  4. Make sure the box labeled "Use Passive FTP" is checked.
  5. Click OK to save the change
